An Update on all my writing projects! A list of things to come!

There are a total of 5 different projects I'm working out the details for so I hope you'll cheer me on and check out the ones that interest you!

Do you consider yourself focused? Able to begin one project and stick to it to the end without getting distracted?

Nah, me neither.

Project Crow and Fern

This one is obviously my main project, it’s the one that got you to subscribe to this newsletter! But I still want to break it down because there’s more to it that I’ve been letting on.

Part 1: How Can I Love You Too?

This is my main story. After the prequel that I gave away for free, this is the main story: Crow and Fern and their romance story. At this point, I’m working with several different creatives to get this story ready in a visual sense. I’m also figuring out the details of an audiobook, more on that once the details are more concrete.

I’ve been pushing myself to be an author for years, but this story is really where I said, “Alright that’s enough! I need to do this NOW.”

Part 2: Epilogue

The epilogue! The main story ends on what I consider to be a satisfying note. They get together, they’re happy, and they decide to build a future together. (I don’t consider this to be a spoiler) Even though I considered this the end, I kept imaging what that new future might look like.

And that future couldn’t be properly condensed into a short epilogue chapter. No, it needed to be a separate story where I could really expand on everything.

Project Zombies

This project will be familiar to those of you who read this newsletter. A story about zombies, and our main character Dan who couldn’t care less about surviving the apocalypse. And how he reconnects with what makes us human.

This story will be for you guys, each chapter uploaded in a letter for you to keep up with and enjoy. Maybe down the line it will be altered into a published book with some polishing, but for now it will just stay between us.

Project Poetry

I brought this one up briefly as well. I have a collection of poems that seems to grow every time I open the file. This one will be a little on the shorter side, at least for now. If I decided to add in some images perhaps the book would end up being a little bit longer.

The poems are split between “content” and “person”. Content being discussions of things in a general sense, while person discusses my personal life and feelings. I’ve been working on getting beta readers for everything, which is nice.

I’ve been reading the poems of lots of other writers. I will say, we all have a tendency to focus on the negativity of our lives and that makes the content. It’s a simple psychological fact that we focus on negatives more than positives. But I don’t want my poems to be so overbearing. Hence why I’m hesitant to share them. I don’t plan on removing the bad poems, but maybe adding in more with less intense negativity to balance it out.

Project Wolf Sisters

I once spent an entire summer vacation writing. One of those stories, is something I have always called “the wolf sisters”. Sadly, due to my typing laptop breaking (I think) I lost pretty much everything that I wrote that summer vacation. Some that did survive were so bad that I destroyed the evidence. (Please don’t do that, that was stupid of me. I regret it every time I remember).

This story was special. It was based off of all those wolf perspective stories from years ago. But it was sisters. One sister, the older one, received an omen that she would be the leader of a great pack. She then goes on a journey and slowly meets all the characters as time passes on.

I’ll talk about this story in MANY more letters so I won’t bore you with all the details just yet. I haven’t started writing this story just yet, but I’ve build up a solid outline and once the rough drafts are all sorted out, things will snap into place.

Project Dreams

I have dreams, weird dreams. Basically, I’m trying to keep a dream journal. This will probably end up being a collection of shorts stories. Sometimes a dream is turned into a poem, or I write it down and then squint.

Because what was I thinking when I wrote that one story? Was that really what my dream was about? But, well, the entire Crow and Fern project was created from a dream. So keeping track of them is probably pretty important.

For now, it’s hastily made notes and voice recordings that I keep on file to remember. I’ll share more about it when there’s more substance to this.

If you have any current projects you’re working on send them my way. I’d love to read through the writings of others and see what you got!
